Question About 2000 Sacagawea Dollar U.S. Mint Box

That would fit with the entire weight of the package - the coins weighing ~14½ oz and the packaging making up the other 3½ oz Roger, you were pretty precise with the 14½ oz weight. Is that indeed the weight of two 25-coin rolls? Knowing that for sure will allow me to at least rule out "two sets". Each coin weighs 8.1 grams, according to the US Mint site. One roll of 25 would contain 202½g of coin, both rolls would contain 405g = 14.29oz. No idea what the cardboard tube might weigh, never having seen one. Hope this helps a bit - good luck. -- Roger Hunt |

It would likely then be two 'Bumblebee' wrapped $25 rolls, one from each mint plant ('D' and 'P'). As someone else posted, the coins are 8.1g each for a total of 405 grams. I'm not completely sure on how that exactly relates to 'pounds' (at last check the USA-UK exchange rate is about USA$1.95 = £1.00, so you'd have approximately £25.64) ducks! (hehehehee) and ozzes, but since I do recall offhand that 1kg is about 2.2 of the old-style USA ones, along with their other unit relationships, that sounds about right. One thing that I did note a few years ago about those 'bumblebee' wrappers is that they definitely do 'tone' the coins inside (and fairly quickly, too, I might add), so it might just be best to open them up and spend them. They should be most colorful by now! Good luck! -- ___________________________________________ ____ _______________ Regards, | |\ ____ | | | | |\ Michael G. Koerner May they | | | | | | rise again!
