Even granting that eBay wouldn't remove said feedback as being
contrary to their policy, how many sellers actually check the feedback
of their buyers anyway? Since most serious buyers snipe at the last
possible second, it's probably a moot point.

So, my assessment is that leaving feedback for buyers is pointless but
harmless, just another quirk of human nature.

IMO a feedback given to a buyer is just a polite "thank you" and
generally engenders good feeling toward the seller.

As an E-bay buyer only, I can tell you that a pleasant experience,
including feedback, is much more likely to cause me to be a repeat
customer. It's the same with real bricks and mortar businesses: if I'm
treated decently, I'll come back. If the merchant is rude or indifferent,
I'll go elsewhere.

I think that's a good way to look at it.

Same thing with sellers. *Since eBay is increasingly rude and indifferent
toward them, they appear to be going elsewhere.

Really?
I haven't noticed a any dropoff in offerings of Canadian coins.
