No brags from this Book Sale
Went to the Smith College book sale yesterday in New Canaan, CT.
Reportedly over 80,000 books for sale. Staff told me they had a record number of books. I looked for several hours and saw nothing worth buying even for $1. Ran into a book dealer friend who had found little of interest or value. There were a few books for sale on a "silent auction" basis. One was King's first book, "Carrie". It had all the points for a first printing, first issue, and was in great condition. Minimum bid was $1,000!. No brags from this sale, and it has been a long time since the last one. Off to the ABAA show today in NYC. Art Layton Stamford CT
