What's Up?? Thoughts?
hey all. ok, after a complete ZERO... no, make that 1 out of like 20 !!!
i must ask if anyone else is having this problem? I'm in Canada. I send to a "known" current address, be it agent or set, send proper postage, in a normal enough envelope. Nice letter, and provide the photo with SASE with more than enough postage. This happens in US AND CANADA. I get nothing after many months. Then I look in here, or my favorite, Stefan's Autographs (from Switzerland), and he would have just received from the same address, like 4 times !! Example, Battlestar Galactica... Stefan's sent to CANADA, same actress, like 3 or 4 times in the span of maybe 2 months. And guess what, everey one came back to him signed in a couple months... 1 month is his best. And I'm already here in Canada, and nothing ? I'm really confused. I started around 1996 or 8 i think, did REALLY well, then splat.\ I have sent out about 3 times in the last year, about 20 autos each time. and i think i got back a handful, literally. Anyone? |

This happens to me a lot as well. All I can suggest is be more
vigilant. Ie, make sure when you are typing the letter you are sincere and polite and if you are writing it, it's VERY clear and legible with not too many mistakes. Don't make the letter too short (being callous as all you want is an autograph) but don't go beyond on full page. In addition, make sure the address is written clear and you put your return address in the corner, clear as well. I am considering to start putting my address on my letters in case the envelopes get separated accidentally from the letter. I haven't been doing that, but that occured to me just now and I'll start doing that. Write to places IMMEDIATELY when someone gets a success. Actors/acrtresses often move around. Other than that, it could be you are the one they saturated out on. For example, I think some people were lucky and got successes and the mail became overwhelming and the celeb said "enough" and unfortunately, you are one of the unlucky who they decided not to do. It's all I can suggest. I know what you feel, been there, done that and got the tshirt a hundred times over. And on some, I wrote two or three times when others reported and still nothing. I think with say Jimmy Smits, I mentioned a film he didn't like! So try to be vague and cover a body of work too. PS I've been having pretty good luck lately with Charlie and the Chocolate Factory people. Here's the link: http://www.starwarsautographcollecti...teFactory.html Maybe you can find something a little narrower which many people do not collect from and try that. Find something you like. I find those to be more successful than stay Lord of the Rings or whatever.
