Gold proof coins not available at US Mint web site
Just had pointed out to me that none of the 2006 gold proof coins (one ounce, half ounce, quarter ounce, tenth ounce, or the four coin set) are still for sale on the US mint web site. All are marked "product is not available." Did they sell out, or is the melt price too close to the sale price? |

Did they sell out, or is the melt price too close to the
sale price? The latter. The Mint's product page under "No Longer Available" says: Due to the increasing market value of gold, the American Eagle Gold Proof Coins are temporarily unavailable while pricing for this option can be adjusted; therefore, no orders can be taken at this time. We expect products to be available with adjusted pricing on or after May 18, 2006. -- Mike --- |

Gold proof coins not available at US Mint web site
On 11 May 2006 22:21:29 GMT, Mike did carve unto the
very living rock upon which we now stand: Did they sell out, or is the melt price too close to the sale price? With Platinum at almost $1300/oz, I wonder how much longer those will be available before "adjustsment". Steve Buy the book before the coin don't forget to *READ* the book after you've bought it! It doesn't do anything just sitting on the shelf (remove ATTITUDE to reply via e-mail) It's more than you think: http://www.premierpersonalization.com |
