Eisenhower dollar, minted in 1975-76. It's worth a dollar. -- Bob |

It's an Eisenhower dollar commemorating the American revolutionary war. As to "white metal," I have no idea. |

The white metal is cupronickel (75% copper, 25% nickel), and there is a copper center between two layers of cupronickel. Just like all recently-minted coins larger than 10¢, except for the Sacagaweya dollars. The head is of President Dwight David Eisenhower, President of the USA from 1952 through 1960. This is a Bicentennial Dollar, which, along with the Bicentennial Half-Dollar and Bicentennial Quarter, commemorated the 200th birthday of the United States of America, a country that existed on this continent for about 22 years (first President: John Hanson), before being replaced by another of the same name (first President: George Washington). -- Steve |
