Machin woes
I like to make copies of stamp images to use in a self made catalog
and sometimes a album page. I copied the 2009 issues, great images, just the right size..however when I print them out the fluorescence bars overpowers my printer and makes the image useless. I don't suppose there is a solution for this. Ralph |

Ralph Take a look at http://www.adminware.ca/machin.htm and in particular there's a color album in pdf form really to print out at http://www.adminware.ca/machin/m_album.htm Hope this helps, Larry |

that's strange, usually the fluorescence is caused by the scanner not the
printer, if it is the scanner, you need to recalibrate or buy a new scanner. check your images after you scan them "Ralphael1" wrote in message ... This is the first time I have had bad results. Ralph |

A small sheetlet of the UV blocking window stuff will reduce the scanner's triggering of the bars. Since I never use a scanner I have no clue what you are talking about. Ralph |

The Image menu in Irfanview offers Color Correction with multiple slider choices. I'd try reducing Saturation first -- move the slider to the left. As an alternative you might try printing your images in your printer's draft mode to see if that helps -- also uses less ink that way. Bill |

Bill I am skeptical that the color correction would work in my case. The lines across the stamps are not sharp and my eyes are not good. AFIK my printer does not have draft mode capabilities. I will have to do some research. Thank you for your input. Ralph |

If the tagging reacts, then this won't correct the 'glow'. You need to stop the UV spectrum from the scanner's tube from activating the tagging. OP already said he doesn't have a scanner. Color correction may help. Bill |
