Seeburg "C" tech question
Hello All:
I have watched this forum for a long time. I have had a few jukes but they were usually operating when I purchased them. I just purchased a Seeburg "C" I think every thing seems to work until you make a selection. The machine kicks the pin that you select out but after this the machine does not start up. So I guess whatever happens after the pin comes out isn't sending a message to the motor to start operating. I am not great at electronics does any one have a any suggestions I can try. I tried the manual scan button and the carriage moved about an inch and stopped it hasen't moved since. Thanks in advance for anything you can help me with. Any advise Tony, Lloyd, John or the rest of you pros Thanks Roger |

Seeburg "C" tech question
Has this machine been restored? If not then I'd be checking all
mechanical linkages for proper lubrication and no binding. Next check all switches/relays for proper operation/no burnt or pitted contacts. Be sure to recap both the selection reciever unit and the amplifier too. |

Seeburg "C" tech question
Let's start with the motor not running. First, check the motor fuse on the
Wired Selection Receiver chassis; it's one of the two fuses in the twist-off cap style fuse holders. Replace that fuse if it's blown. Also check that all cables connected to the WSR chassis are fully seated. Now carefully check the cable that runs from about the middle of the mechanism shelf to the carriage assembly (the part that moves from side to side). Some times that cable will get caught on something and cause a hang-up as the motor scans. Also check for mechanical binds in the selection playing indicator channel, a record that is sticking part-way out of its slot, etc. Once you're sure there are no mechanical issues preventing the motor from operating, try spinning the motor coupling (directly above the carriage motor) with your fingers. It should spin fairly easily and should cause the carriage to move to one side or the other. Reversing the direction of rotation will cause the carriage to move in the other direction. Now try using the service switches again to get the carriage scanning. If the motor doesn't run try to listen to the top area of the Wired Selection Receiver chassis. Do you hear a relay clicking when you actuate the service switch? Let us know what happens, and perhaps we can suggest other things. Seeburg "C" tech question
Tony & Ken
Thank you both for your suggestions. I tried every thing you guys suggested and low and behold the machine started to work. It selected fine all day but the odd numbers would not cancel I filed all the points that pointed to this and finally it began to cancel all selections. After I got this problem fixed it has now decided not to select. The unit energizes but when you make a selection the pin doesn't pop out. If you manually select it works fine. Seeburgs must be a little touchy. I'll see what I can do with it now. I really appreciate you guys helping me Thanks a million. Nice to have good tech guys that don't mind sharing their knowledge.
