Would that be the Del Monte shopping center in Monterey???

Definitely true. Same junk. New wrappers.

Yesterday night on NPR "Marketplace" (I think) I heard an intro that
said, "Walmart created the impression that $49.95 is the right price
for a DVD player, but what about quality..."

Although President Bush cautioned -- not incorrectly -- about the
dangers in protectionism, I cannot help but take seriously the fact
that Japan maintains high tariffs on rice: they could buy it cheaper
elsewhere but (1) Japanese farmers can make money growing rice and
consequently (2) Japan will never be dependent on anyone else for their
food.
