Default 90% off topic, but cool (at least to me)

So I'm at a moving/estate/garage sale this morning in a pretty pricey
neighborhood not too far from my house. Some pretty cool stuff, but still
pretty expensive.

Before I go further, remember my eBay seller name is Flyfishguy. At one
time in my life I spent summers as a flyfishing guide and winters as a ski
patrolman.

Back to the story. So at this sale, I spy an old fly rod tube and decide it
needs a closer look. It held a split cane fly rod from about 1910. A
pretty cool rod, but a little over priced, besides, I only fish about 3 days
a year anymore because of work, and our 4 young kids. One has Cerebral
Palsy and one has mild Autism, and my wife can use the break. So I'm
through looking at this rod and this older, nicely dressed gentleman asks to
look at it and we start talking about fly fishing. We seem to hit it off
and then he mentioned that he owns 2.5 miles of river on one of THE nicest
trout streams in Utah, 2 hours from my house. (Now the coin part). He also
tells me he has "40 to 50" rolls of uncirculated Morgan Dollars. So we talk
about those and maybe it would be a good thing to have me look at them since
he's had them since 1975. We talk a little more about his property and he
describes it to me (I know that area pretty well) and talks about all the NO
TRESPASSING, NO FISHING and NO HUNTING signs he has all around his property.
Then he tells me exactly where his house is and that I can come fishing
anytime I want. Just stop my the house and we'll wet a line together.

Fly fisherman would give their first born to fish this water! It was a good
day!

Wes,

You could fall into a sewer and come up with every piece of gold jewelry
that was ever lost down a drain. Not only do they walk into your store, you
walk into their yards...

Good things happen for you both inside and outside your coin shop, Wes. And
in my humble (but *accurate* opinion), they couldn't happen to a nicer guy!
Way to go!

Wes, call it Karma, or the Golden Rule, or even "what goes around,
comes around". I am sure that your good deeds and honesty with the
general public as well as those who walk into your shop has something
to do with it. Somebody up there likes you. You are the kind of guy I
want to be standing next to in a lightning storm, or a hurricane. (No,
not the capital letter Hurricane, just down the road from you). Hope to
meet you some day. Denver in 2 weeks?

Things like lightning storms or hurricanes probably won't happen with
Wes around.

Wes,
BTW, what ever happened with the stuff from "what are the odds" post?

"What are the odds of being involved in a murder that was featured on
America's Most Wanted? What are the odds of being involved in two different
murders that were featured on two different episodes of America's Most
Wanted?

I have just been awarded that distinction. As most of you know, when Jordan
Allgood was murdered in his coin shop, I stepped in and took it over for the
family.

In February 2000, a nice young girl (Michelle O'keefe,
www.michelleokeefe.org) was shot to death at a Park & Ride in Los Angeles
County. It took the D.A. 6 years to build a case. I am the closest thing
they have to a witness and have been called to testify at the Prelim.
Hearing on Monday the 22nd. They have told me it's not a strong case and a
lot of it depends on my testimony I can't say much until after the trial,
but I wonder what the odds are of this.

Wes"

With Jordan's murder (at the coin shop), the shooter plead out and is
serving a 5 year to life term (They tell us he'll never see the light of
day). The driver of the get-a-way car is claiming he wasn't there and had
nothing to do with it. His trial will start in a couple of months. The
drivers girl friend (who's idea it was to rob the store) turned states
evidence and will testify against the driver.

Case II,
I testified at the prelim in CA and he was bound over for trial next July
(courts move slow in CA). At that point I'll have to testify again.
