Default Silver content of world coins

Hello,
Does anyone know of an online resource that might provide
information on the silver content in various world coins? The coins
from Mexico that indiacte "una onza" are easy enough. But "cien pesos"
I'm not sure of. The silver maples are 1 ounce, but what about the
silver Canadian dollars from the 50's and 60's? I also have approx 400
silver coins from Israel. Many of those are proof coins. But there
are so many different sizes and designs.... I'd guess there might be
350 different designs, shapes, and weights out of some 400 coins. I
was surprised that most of them have the year in "english"
numbers...everything else is not in english. Instead of a reeded edge,
most of them are very smooth and have engraving there. I realize I
could buy a giant catalog but it would be nice if I could find it
online.
Thank you,
Jon

Hi Jon:

I'm not aware of any free source that gives this information
online, in one place.

You can pick up an older version of the Krause catalog
(Standard Catalog of World Coins) in the library, perhaps,
or buy one for a song on eBay. The S&H, should you buy
one on eBay, will probably be more than the cost of the
catalog...

Not such an on-line service but you should buy Krause and there you'll find
all the info you need.
