What do you collect?

I am into modern; ASE, Commems, proof/mint sets. I don't have one coin
that is classical or even old unless you count the older proof/mint
sets.

I think my tastes are just the opposite of yours, Bob.

I collect:
Colonial and State: Wood's Hibernia, Connecticut, New Jersey, Nova
Constellatio, Massachusetts, French, a few state and continental
notes.
Half cents.
Large cents.
Indian cents.
Peace dollars.
Hyperinflation currency: German, Hungarian, Austrian, Russian,
Turkish. (What I really like about these is that they are very
affordable!)

I am also very keen on 19th century stamps on cover, and even a few
stampless covers.

What I don't like: proofs, commemoratives (especially modern). These
were never intended to be used as money. They are mostly intended as a
means to provide government pork for special interests. (Actually,
Peace and Morgan dollars are the same story. The federal government
kept buying silver at above-market prices and minting the coins, even
though they had millions of silver dollars sitting unused in vaults,
awaiting their eventual resting places in PCGS slabs.)
