Don't know. "based on" I guess would
not be the same thing as "designed" although it could be a gray area. |

Some elderly black lady daubed and charcoaled a portrait of FDR when
she was young. In the goofy fairy-based aids-ridden victim society 1990s, this qualifies a black person to be the "designer" of the Roosevelt dime, that white male eurocentric racist John Sinnock "stole" it from her. What crap. oly |

What crap. oly No, the claim is based on a bas-relief sculpture she was selected to do, one for which Roosevelt posed and which was unveiled by Harry Truman five months after Roosevelt's death. |

Aram. The following is a synopsis of the claim and probable refutation as published by Richard Bateson in his book "Richard's Roosevelt Review". The artist Selma Burke claimed that John Sinnock's portrait of Roosevelt on the dime copied a bas relief plaque unveiled in September of 1945. This plaque was not a side profile and showed some features of the right side of Roosevelt's face, as well as the features on the left. Sinnock had already done his own studies of Roosevelt for the 1933 inaugural medal. One of the many photos of Roosevelt has the exact profile in reverse as the profile on the dime. Bateson sums it up by stating that Sinnock probably used all the resources and studies available to him, including Burke's. Steve |
