Default Meisterstuck 12 question

Hi all

What are Montblanc Meisterstuck 12 pens like? There's one coming up in an
auction near me soon. I'm assuming this is a vintage Montblanc and therefore
good quality. It has a left oblique nib and appears to be in good working
order. Cosmetically, it looks very good. I'm not actually a fan of the
style, but if these are desirable pens, I might put ina bid and if I win
trade it for something more to my liking.

Thanks for any advice, Dominic Hurley

I bought an MB 12 to write my degree exams with, lo these many
years ago, when I knew nothing of the brand, but it was just the
best-writing pen I could find -- and not much of a price premium.
I still have the pen, now with a stub nib which is superb. OTOH,
I have had to have a crack in the hood repaired, and I gather
that a tendency of the plastic to split is an inherent problem
(rather like Parker 61s: this has nothing to do with the ongoing
precious resin thing).

Good pens, but don't spend much -- I wouldn't pay more than
US$100, at the outside.

Michael
