Why are you trying to smear Frank Provasek?

I don't have to "smear" him, he does that very well all on his own.
See Frankie likes to dish it out but when it comes to taking it, he
starts whining and spinning his wild paranoid delusions.

I'd suggest that not all of the posts done in Frank Provasek's name were
actually made by him, and that none of the posts done in Helen Wallace's
name were made by her.

If this is so, then someone has been posting in her name, with the
same style, for a year or more. The only time she - or the person
using this name - comes out of the woodwork is to post a similarly
worded defense of Frank.

Shill posting?

I just did an Outlook Express "find" exercise and reread all the posts by
"Helen Wallace" to RCC over the past 90 days. The quality and style vary
all over the board. I'd say that the byline is used by at least four
different personalities (note that I did not say four different persons).
One of the posts was signed "Frank Curtis." There are multiple versions of
the signature line. I can likewise sort the posts by "Frank Provasek" into
at least two personas. As we have discussed previously, the owls are not
what they seem.

Methinks you have WAY too much time on your hands.

I am an honest and helpful person who participates in this newsgroup
to discuss coins. Why is that the people who are the most open and
willing to help others and share their knowlege are bashed
mercilessly, cruel and untrue things said, manipulated into damnmed if
you do - damned if you don't situations?
There are people here who have tried to destroy my business, my
family, my good reputation. I just don't understand some of the
horrible people in this group.

So why do you keep coming back? I would have bailed out long ago. I
can't believe you actually get enough out of all this to warrant
continuing to follow this group, considering the punishment you receive.
Most people here have come to identify you with repeated complaints about
perceived wrongs done to you by eBay, RCC posters, other Usenet group
posters, former customers, grading services, et al. These complaints
outweigh any substantive posts you have made. Everyone seems out to ruin
you. You have become the Joe Btfsplk of numismatics.

Bruce

I have posted before that Frank is his own worst enemy and he will not be
happy until he has no business left, his recent posts have strengthened this
view. Billy

Praps. But I've been keeping this mental log over a period of time, and
report what possible insights result from it.

So aside from the PITA of all this, all your regular and/or former
customers apparently could still deal with you with no need for eBay to be
involved at all. With this reliable customer base, you should have said
to hell with eBay and just sent out routine lists to your past customers
whenever you had stuff to sell or were looking to buy. Weren't things
much simpler before eBay?

Bruce

Why is this old news being dragged out? Looks like Provasek has a positive
feedback of 3000 over the past 7 years.

Frankly I'd take eBay's word over yours in this matter.
They spotted your shilling scam and shut you down.
Now you're sore.
Tough titty!
Next time don't have all your shills use the same mailing address, you
knucklehead!
And you never answered the question of why, if you have so many loyal
customers, do you even need eBay??????????

I don't believe they had the same mailing addresses. From why I read, Frank
was president of the CLUB which has the the CLUB mailing address was used by
some of the club members. My husband was President of the same club in the
1960s, and I know this was common practice then, so I would certainly accept
Frank's explanation over ebay's accusations.

And yet you wonder why people dislike you enough to turn you in to eBay
whenever they can?

I can't understand why not liking someone based on newsgroup flames should
be reason to try and sabotage their business. Or do I just not "get it"?

Good point.
Sounds more like his so-called "former customers" were shilling for
him.
Then he was stupid enough to get caught using the wrong mailing
address and came up with a lame, unbelievable story to try to explain
it all away.
As far as excuses go, it was worth than the old "dog ate my homework"
chestnut.
