Default John Buchan bookplate query...

I have a copy of "The American Scene" (Chapman and Hall 1907) signed in pencil
by "John Buchan." There is also a small bookplate, aprox. 1.5 inches tall and
1inch wide. The bookplate has a drawing of a sunflower. On the left side of
the stem is a 'J' and on the right side is a 'B'. I am assuming that the
signature "John Buchanan" belongs to the "Thirty-Nine Steps" John Buchan and
not some taxicab driver from Hoboken N.J. The signature does look very much
like the one displayed he

And I bought the book assumeing that the signature was authentic.

But I would also like to say that the bookplate belonged to John Buchan as
well. Is there a web page that displays the bookplates of authors? I couldn't

find one (my googling skills are poor.) Or is there a reader of
this ng that has an authentic John Buchan bookplate who could tell me
if I have, the "real McCoy."? I would like to be able to
brag about both the sig and the bookplate. Why annoy my
friends with one brag when I can annoy them with two...?

Thanks as always...

Jonathan

addendum: There's an ilustration of a bookplate similar to the
one you describe near the top of this page.

That is the same bookplate. Thank you for delving into this for me. My next
job is to improve my internet search skills so that I can do this sort of thing
for myself.

I have Buchan's copy of Oswald Kulpe's "The Philosophy of the Present in
Germany" (important to me because it likely influenced several Buchan works
and contains notes in his handwriting) and the bookplate is sized as you
describe, with the green sunflower and intitials inside an oval.
