Default Want Nib Only -- Mont Blanc

Does anyone know where I can buy just the nib
for a Mont Blanc with the following numbers:
4810, 18k, 750, 144 (fine nib)?

Thanks,

Michael

The only number that's important is "144," which, I presume, is
on the cap band, preceded by "Meisterstuck No."

It depends on what you need. If all you need is a replacement,
then a MB dealer or boutique is probably your only recourse. If
it's adjustment, regrinding, or any number of things other than
replacement, it might be possible that a nib meister could help
you out.

Thanks, Mark. Can you tell me what the numbers mean?

4810 is the height of Mont Blanc in meters. 18k is the gold
content (18 karat), as is 750 (same thing, different system; I
think it's really 0.750, but I'm not really sure).

What about the 144? Does that mean it's a fine
pt?

I appreciate your time.

18k refers to gold content; 750 does the same.

144 is the model number indicating the size of the pen (coming in
144, 145, 146 and 149- each larger than the last).

No. 144 is the model number of the pen. The nib width should be
marked on the nib (F, M, B, BB, etc) or on the feed.

As Tim M. wrote, that number is the model number.

If it's like my 149, nib size will be indicated by an F, M, or B
(fine, medium, or broad), which is stamped on the nib.

It's really strange. I have a basic Meisterstruck and also a Hemitite, and
on neither nib can I find any letters indicating nib size.

I'll keep looking. And thanks.

Yep, 0.750 if you consider 100% as being 1 in mathematical terms. "Pure
gold" is 24k, and 18k is 75% of that, ergo the 750. Likewise, 14k is about
58.5%, and therefore 585 markings on corresponding nibs.

Cheers,
Jimmy
