The $2 purple and shades were issued between 1916 about 1943 and in use until the 1960s and I think still available from the state tax office. There is an older catalog by by E. Hubbard published in 1960. The punched L Bros over 11 01 2 might either be Lansburgh Brothers, NYC or Low Brothers, NYC depending on the way it was punched. If the "ros" part is in small capital letters it is probable Low Brothers. This is from the new Perfins Club handbook on Perforated or Punched Initials, Numbers and/or Designs in U.S. Revenues and Fiscal Documents, published the end of 2007. Art |

I have tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands that I have been searching for material for a book I did on perforated initials and numbers on US revenue stamps. Art |
