Sugar Plantation Token ?
Identification required please....
A old token about 24mm diameter (from memory), Brass. First side "5" centrally with arched "INGENIO LA BENITA" above and arched "MARAGLIANO" below. Second side a fairly fancy coat of arms. The only clue I have upto now is that an internet search found somewhere for me a piece with some similar legends and it was said to be from a Cuban sugar plantation (no illustration given). Grade was around Very Fine. -- Thanks Mr Paul Baker http://www.wbcc.fsnet.co.uk/ |
