Default No way for Steve Miller and Wolf Trap

What a horrid weekend. However, I must say that Steve Miller sounded
FANTASTIC still and did all his favorites and when he did a few new
tunes, they were GOOD in his style; so you could get into it.

I think it was Mike (?) who posted about the Wolf Trap Venue. I like
to tell about the venues I attend just in case anyone else goes and
ever wants to scope it out.

Anyway, he's right. It's in a very nice setting (wooded area) and the
stage and seating is nice. However, it goes downward and the stage is
upwards...which is normal except there is an embankment on both side
you cannot go around. Closest on one side is a parking lot and if you
go out that way, you won't get near the stage anyway. There must be a
back road and back area to get in and there was NO WAY to see it.
Also, there is not only the Orcehstra seating where we were, but the
Orchestra Pit, which is reserved to special people. This blocks
anyone from getting anywhere near the stage. And as far as them going
to the ends of the stage where the people are, it's not happening as
there's a step down from that stage and that's where huge amps were.
So no way ANY people are getting close unless you're in the pit. No
way to get an autograph and between this, Verizon Wireless, Nissan,
N'Telos, Chrystler Hall, this is the worst I have seen for autograph
seekers. So yeah, no autograph.

What was the pits for us was we got lost at least 5 separate times ...
finding the hotel, going from hotel to son's house (not lost much, but
took super long route to get there), lost from son's house to Pentagon
City mall (by the way, if you've not gone, it's four levels!). Then
lost on the way back and again lost from the concert to the hotel. So
this did NOT make my day. To boot, I didn't see a single soul with a
camera and we had to walk a LONG way from the car to the venue (uphill
all the friggin way in the friggin rain) so we decided to take the
cheaper 3.1 Megapixel camera instead to hide it. Only to learn there
was no problem with snapping phoitos (DOH). Wouldn't have been too
bad except something was wrong with the card and we couldn't take
photos! UGH. On the way in it was raining and we didn't know if we'd
be outside or under an overhang, so Scott bought a 20 umbrella, only
to learn we didn't need it! If all this wasn't enough to make my life
miserable, we didn't eat dinner till 11 PM as they don't allow food in
the venue! I swear. They said it's because "it attracts bugs". All
you're allowed is water. Today was better except on the way home I
stopped at DQ for a Caramel Latte and got stung by a bee!

LOL I hope I made you all smile... and hope if you ever go to DC, you
get three different maps and don't download from Mapquest....that's a
piece of garbage! Download three maps and cross reference them...best
way not to get lost.
