Westleys bleech white ( probably spelled wrong ) is better . You can
just go get it from auto parts or many department stores . It comes in a spray bottle just like windex . Dont get it on anodized aluminum , it causes spots . When washing mechs its a good idea to dry it with forced air and set it in the sun to get it dry quickly . Another wonderfull cleaner is ..electramotive cleaner.. by CRC in red spray cans . 4 or 5 bucks per can and it STINKS , go outside. may hurt paint though . |

Thanks for the great cleaning tips, Good news, I got it going...turns out the guy had a wire connector plugged into the counter plug instead of up top on the arm for the needle. The only thing its doing wierd is, after it plays a record (not always) at the very end where there is about 3-4 seconds before it reaches the end of the record and remove it to put back in the carousel It emits a fairly loud low bass rumble which shakes the cabinet, I've tried playing with the volume pot with no luck. Am I correct in thinking this is the muting not working all the time? Could I be looking at some chips or caps going bad in the amplifier ? I have the service manual but didn't see anything about this in the troubleshooting. Thanks, Joe |

Thanks, Joe I may have found what was causing the above, the songs were actually starting just a few seconds too soon, so I adjusted the tone arm control, it still does it on a few of the records, but the rumble doesn't seem as bad now after the songs are over before changing to the next selection. |
