This book titled, "The Rifle in America", by Philip B. Sharpe, Captain,
Ordnance Department, is in its original dust jacket and in excellent
condition. It is published by Funk & Wagnalls Company, New York, 4th
Edition, Copyright 1958. The book is 833 pages and is a authoritive work on
American rifles, sights, scopes, ammunition and more. The book contains
American models including Winchester, Remington, Garand, Springfields,
Stevens, Marlin, and Iver-Johnson. Also included are two chapters on foreign
military arms, their master codes for identification markings of the arms
and ammunition. There is also a complete list of conversion tables, boring
of various rifles, and bullet types and weights. The book is loaded with
photographs of the rifles described. A nice reference book on handguns.
The book measures 8" x 10 1/2". The book is full of photos, illustrations,
and drawings. The book is in excellent condition with no rips, tears,
stains, loose or missing pages. The dust jacket is in fair condition with
the back flap torn (see pictures)
