Default Question on selling my collection

Hello everyone! I thank you all in advance for any insight you could
give me. I was a heavy sports card collector from about 1987 for about
10 years. I'd say I have about 200,000 cards of mostly baseball,
football, and basketball. Probably about 3/4 of them are commons,
which leaves me with about 50,000 star cards. I've recently moved and
I really don't have the room for them anymore. As a matter of fact,
most of the commons are at a relative's house just taking up space.
Anyways, I've decided that I need to start unloading these things. 3
reasons really. 1. I'm just not into it anymore. 2. they are taking
up too much space. 3. I'm broke. lol. The problem is, I can't say
that I have a lot of GREAT cards. Limited run cards, special insters,
etc...etc.. I have a lot of star cards of hall of famers and future
hall of famers, but they aren't the most desirable cards of those
players. Mostly regular issue cards. My question is, how would you
all suggest I go about selling these to maximize my revenue? Even if
you take away all of the commons, I know that "book value" of what I
have is tens and tens of thousands of dollars. I know I'll never get
what they are worth, but I want to get the maximum that I can for them.
Any ideas??????????

Go to a show and set up & sell them. You didn't say about selling them all
at once so taking your time if you have it would maybe be best if you start
off cheap. Otherwise your in the same boat as 2 million other people. How
much is paper by the pound where you live?

I havea few old tobacco cards. Can't really remember which ones right
now though. No real stars in there though. I also have quite a few
from the 50s and 60s. Lots of hall of famers in there, but many of
them aren't ion the greatest condition. I also don't want to sell a
few things. My Mickey Mantle's are staying with me til I die.

Well, if you're keeping some of it, then you're not really selling your
collection are you? Sheesh, the waterheads are really out in force!

You know, I'm pretty sure I can still call it selling my collection
even if I'm keeping 5 out of 200,000 cards. Now how about someone with
something constructive to add?
