Royal Jersey Militia "On the Shoulders of History" Commemorative Challenge Coin
All,
This medal is one of a limited edition of 200 medals designed to highlight the history of the Royal Jersey Militia and Jersey culture. The medal is antiqued gold plated bronze and each is individually numbered. (I just received mine and it is numbered 104.) The front of the medal has the current Royal Jersey Militia crest flanked by a 1781 Royal Jersey Militiaman and a Royal Jersey Artilleryman. The front also contains the Battle Honours of the unit and the words "At the going down of the Sun and in the Morning" in both English and Jersey French. On the reverse of the medal is the 2008 Jersey Poppy Appeal Poppy bearing the Seal of the Bailiwick of Jersey and the words "We Will Remember Them" in both English and Jersey French. This is a nicely design medal, a great value and it is for a good cause. Please learn more at Royal British Legion (Jersey) Poppy Appeal e-Commerce Site. Also, see http://jerseycoins.com/ for details. Later, I will add a nicer image of the medal. Harold |
