Default rowe r-93 bulbs

Hi,

I currently picked-up a Rowe R-93 (non-combo). It is equiped with a
animation motor that has a disco ball. There are 12 mini bulbs (#73)
that go around the disco ball.

The animation motor is burn-out and I have ordered a new one. My
question is about the bulbs. No bulbs light up - there are some that
seem burn-out and some that seem ok. Do all the bulbs have to be ok in
order for all the bulbs to light up ...one burns out, they all go out?

Thanks,

NM

If it's like the way they wired them on the CD-100 series, the bulbs
are wired in series. So in other words they all need to be good in
order to light up. Check for broken sockets and clean printed circuit
board contacts too.

On the Rowe R83 I have, all the 14 volt #73 bulbs are wired independantly.
If one is out, the remainder continue to function. I don't think Rowe
would put all the bulbs in series. If one bulb went bad, and they all go
out, it would be a service nitemare to find the bad bulb. The fact that
you say several bulbs are bad indicates that they functioned
independantly, and went bad over a period of time. (unless a power surge
made them all blow at one time).
PS: you can buy these bulbs from www.cdadapter.com

They are wired in series in pairs. One burns out, and 2 will fail to
light. It is easiest to just replace EVERY light all at once, and then
you won't have to worry about replacing them for awhile. Thereafter,
replace them in pairs as they burn out...
