Default NO COMMERCIAL POSTINGS, PLEASE!

Rec.collecting.books is a forum for the discussion of issues relating to
book-collecting. Commercial postings are specifically prohibited.

Rec.collecting.books is an unmoderated newsgroup, so if people *do* make
commercial postings there is nothing we can do about it except let them know
how we feel and, in extreme cases, report them to their server.

From the FAQs (http://www.massmedia.com/~mikeb/rcb/):
__________________________________________________ ___________________
1.3 What Kind of Posts are Inappropriate?
Want to buy ...
For sale ...
For auction ...
For trade...
Visit my commercial website.
A list of books for sale is available from ...

The one concession is:
__________________________________________________ ___________________
1.6 How Do I Advertise My Cool Website?
Add the information below your "signature". It is considered rude to just
blurt out an ad, but if you join in the discussions people will see the
information, and be more interested in visiting as well.

Thank you for your cooperation.

I apologize. I saw other FA posts, and did not know where to find a FAQ
for your group.

You're very gracious. Thank you.

I don't get much time to read anymore (too much to do; too little time
to do it), but right now I'm stuck on Neal Stephenson's _The Baroque
Cycle_. It's not even old, and the only thing I collect is music, so
I'm not sure I really qualify for the group at all! VBG

It's posted here from time to time, but it's been a while. And we
know how easy it is to assume for-sale posts are acceptable when there
are already plenty of them visible, so don't feel bad.

In any case, please feel free to stick around and talk about books and
collecting.
