Default Can anyone tell me if this book is a 1st edition?

Hi. I'm sure this topic comes up more than the regular readers of this
NG would care to see, but I haven't been able to determine the status
of this book despite doing quite a bit of research.

The book is titled "Shrimpy" by Shane Acton. It's a signed copy from a
British publisher. I have know way to be sure of it's a first
edition. I talked with a book dealer over the phone, and he says it
probably is but he would have to see the book to know for sure.

I will be putting this book up for sale on ebay as soon as I can find
out about the edition question. Here is a link to a picure of the
copyright page: http://www.fototime.com/86E60C379297943/orig.
Can anyone tell from this if this book is a first edition or not?

Thanks!

I doubt very much whether there ever was a reprint of this book its
hardly a book which would sell thousands of copies so I think you are
safe in thinking its a First Edition and the image you have provided
certainly suggests it is.

In any event it doesnt really matter whether a Non Fiction book of this
age and subject is a First Edition or not. Any potential buyer would
want it for its content not for it being a First Edition.

I would be surprised if it went for much on Ebay.

Thanks for the info, Dolf. Your reply is in line with my suspicions.

BTW, the exact same book sold on ebay about 2 weeks ago for $82 and
change. Nautical buffs get serious about collecting.

Thanks!
