Default PVC Damage

A recent set of coin we took in had two complete sets of Indian Cents. This
picture shows the results of one set sitting in a Harco Coinmaster album for
many years.

Uhh ... stupid question, but ... are those actually COINS, or is that
just the residue from the holders after removing the coins??

That's the residue after taking the Indian Cents out.

Hey Wes, what do you plan to clean those cents with? I've got a couple
of those albums, but they are the later versions with PVC free inserts.
The pages still contain PVC though and the coins have a light film on
them. I was planning on using Blue Ribbon on them but I'm having a bit
of trouble getting some. Any suggestions?

Acetone, with a Q-tip, gently.
