British Military Firearms, 1650-1850 in DJ, H. Blackmore, c. 61

2-Days Left on Ebay.........

This book titled, British Military Firearms, 1650-1850, by Howard L.
Blackmore is in its original dust jacket and in excellent condition. It is
published by Herbert Jenkins Ltd, London, England, 1st Edition, Copyright
1961. The book is 296 pages and is devoted entirely to the British Military
Firearm. The book starts with firearms from the Seventeenth Century and
traces the development of the standard military firearm from the matchlock
musket, through all the varieties of the flintlock, to the introduction of
the Enfield rifle in the later half of the nineteenth century. Detailed
information is given on the Brown Bess and India Pattern Muskets, and
experimental models produced by gunmakers as Richard Wooldridge, Henry Nock
and Durs Egg. Cavalry carbines and pistols, breechloaders, the Royal Horse
Artillery pistol, naval arms, seven-barrelled volley guns, and more are
described in photos and in detail. There are sections on the measurements
and contract prices of flintlock and percussion firearms, barrel and lock
marks, and manufacturers marks on stocks. This is a great comprehensive book
on British firearms and a great addition to any British Military arms
collector. The book measures 6 ½ inches x 9 ½ inches. The book and dust
jacket are in excellent condition. There are no loose, torn, or missing
pages. There are no stains or water marks. The dust jacket is in equally
excellent condition.
