Default FA: 1877 Indian Head Cent PCGS VF-35 Nice one!

Virtually EF-40 details and great color. An old shallow nick on reverse
just above the E on ONE is what kept it from a grade of EF-40 in my
opinion.

See it at:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=3957216 692

Also have a VF-30 for less $$ on eBay as well.

Thanks for looking!

Ira

IMO that's undergraded. That's a solid 40+ coin, I can't even see the
mark you mention. Does that mark really detract that much in person?

Bruce (or was PCGS in ******* mode?)

If the coin is oriented upside down, the mark would have been more visible in
the photo. It's definitely there and that's why I mentioned it in the
description. If you compare it to the VF30 I have on eBay, however, the coin is
still at least 10 points higher in grade. I suppose if someone didn't want to
spring for the higher bucks of an 1877 that had EF-40 printed on the label,
this one might do the trick.

I'm not going to comment on which mode PCGS was in at the time of grading, but
generally they are quite strict as others have complained.

What's up is that people are still bidding on Ira's auctions because of
his unassailable reputation for honesty and straight shooting. How are
yours doin'? ;-)

I'd have graded that coin EF40 and slept soundly. But if PCGS wants to
call it a grade lower, well, there are times when honest men will
disagree.

I hope people bid on his auctions you never know what the settlement will be.
Now for the coin. If the coin was any better then VF-35 then the holder would
have that grade on it. The coin was sent to PCGS to be graded and now he
complains about the grade. People can't have it both ways. It is a VF-35 at
best and I agree with PCGS.
Alan as for you I see you have a lot to learn about coins. If I were you I
would keep my mouth shut and learn how to grade coins. If you can be talked
into a better grade of a coin then what is on the holder I have about 100 PCGS
coins that are undergraded ..You are a Fool !!!

Firstly, you are a liar in that no one 'complained' about the grade.

Secondly, if you were me, you'd be posting with your real name and email
address.

Thirdly, my friends don't misrepresent their coins. How yours doin'? ;-)
