Brilliant Brown is a little reddish, like brick. too red for me. what is Grizzly? sounds interesting. but i didn't see it on Swisher. Sorry about that, some of our swatches weren't showing for the Noodler's "waterproof" inks. Grizzly is more of a dark golden brown (sorry, don't know how esle to describe this color). Noodler's Grizzy (like all the other Noodler's "waterproof" inks) is a waterbased ink and was made primarily for use in fountain pens. You should be able to see a sampling of this ink now at the following link: http://www.nexternal.com/swisher/Product1251 Hope this helps. I have found that Sheaffer Skrip Brown (Made in Slovenia) becomes dark enough for me, if i put some Noodler's Ink Walnut to it. I also tried Diamine brown, but that's even lighter. I use a Chinese made brown, no maker's name on the bottle that I can see. The color is called "Tobacco" I like it a lot. I also use Levernger Cocoa, with a dash of black in it for body. Cuz |

If this doesn't work you may need to refresh your browser as the color swatches seem to be showing up fine now on my computer. http://www.nexternal.com/swisher/Product1251 Also, you may want to take a look at the new Noodler's "Swishmix" Seminole Sepia for a nice smooth flowing "water resistant" brown ink. http://www.nexternal.com/swisher/Product1620 The Swishmix inks aren't as "bulletproof" as the regular Noodler's "Waterproof" inks but they tend to flow good in most pens and dry quite fast on most types of paper. Hope this helps. Best wishes, Chuck P.S. If this doesn't work, let me know and I'll e-mail you the samples. |

I'm expecting to receive a bottle of Sheaffer Brown anyday now, and will the be able to try it in my pens, see the color varaitions, etc. I'm also expecting a botle of Pelikan brown. I had never used Pelikan ink until a few days ago, and was somewhat disapointed with the poor flow. Maybe I'll use it in one of my "wet" pens. Cheers, JBR |
