Complete *******ization of jukebox
I've decided to do just that. Any idea what wattage to go with to match the
speakers? There is also the matter of the sound too. I cant remember rock ola having fantastic sound and on many there was no bass enclosure - the woofers were just mounted at the lower front of the machine. I doubt that there would be a decent top end (tweeter) on the juke either. mounting decent speakers in the bottom (commercial box ones) might be worth considering if you want really great sound and have the space spare. Actually the Rockola Supersound 2 did have a sperate bass chamber for the woofers underneath of everything in the bottom of the cabinet. There are no separate tweetwers though, only 2 woofers and 2 midrange/tweeters.The sound is pretty good on my Supersound 2 which I am keeping as a record jukebox. The bass is awesome. The speaker connection label on the bottom says when the jukebox speakers only are connected they recieve 35 watts rms.Doesn't seem like much by todays standards, does it?A lot of the older jukeboxes were only 25 watts and they can rock the house. PSo you have the computer from that box?I would think one from a Supersound and one from a Supersound 2 would be the same.I wouldn't mind having a spare just in case of a future problem .Probably most of the components either are no longer available or will be in the future. If you decide to get rid of the amp I might be interested also.Problems with N.L.A. components are rapidly becoming a big problem with owning a solid state box, especially a computerized one. |
