I've produced an annotated descriptive bibliography of the works of
Patrick O'Brian, updating the 1994 bibliography by A.E. Cunningham
(including the final Jack Aubrey books, books and stories published
under the name Patrick Russ, first appearances in periodicals and
anthologies, translations, unpublished material, etc.). Does anyone
have any advice on publishers that may be interested in such a book?
Or advice on whether I should go with one of the print-on-demand
publishers?

You might approach whomever published the Cunningham and see if
they're interested. Other than that, try some of the university
presses.

You can always self-publish through PoD, although you'll end up having
to flog it yourself - not that a "real" publisher is likely to do all
that much flogging for you, of course.

Have you contacted Norton, Cunningham's (to mention O'Brian's)
publisher?

Oak Knoll is presently the premiere nonacademic publisher of
bibliographies, you might try them:

Yes, I tried Norton. In addition to writing a couple of times, and
getting no response, I also spoke with Starling Lawrence, O'Brian's
editor at Norton, who told me to write again, which I did, and still
got no response.

Someone else also recommended Oak Knoll. I will give them a try,
thanks.
