FWIW, I've been told that the average cowboy's wages were about
a buck a day back in the late 1800's, making it highly unlikely
that they would spend $3 for "all night sport" or equivalent.

Genuine brothel tokens are usually 21 mm (nickel size), brass or
bronze, and have only the name of the madam on the obverse. No
address, city or state. The denomination is usually 5c or
"Good For 5c Drink Or Cigar" ... the wimmen had to be paid for
in cash.


A Google search on "brothel tokens" will bring up several sites with photos of
the most popular designs of these tokens, most for sale at $3.00 or less.

These were unknown until about 1978 and are modern creations where no
originals
existed. Still offered as authentic by the unethical.
