Default GB George VI Inverted Wmk

I have several UK KG VI stamps with an inverted watermark I only have the
1977 issue of the Gibbons British Commonwealth catalog. It notes that these
exist, but are outside the scope of that catalog, and are listed in the GB
Specialised catalog.

Can anyone having access to the Specialised help me with them? All have wmk
type 127 inverted. They a

1/2 d green, SG No. 462, used
1/2 d pale green, SG No. 485, used
1/2 d orange, SG No. 503, used
1-1/2 d red-brown, SG 464, used
2 d pale orange, SG No. 488, used.

What is the catalog price of these stamps? Your help will be greatly
appreciated.

Tony

From my slightly less ancient 1992 GB Concise:-

1/2 d green, SG No. 462, used -- 462Wi £8.50 M, 35p U
1/2 d pale green, SG No. 485, used -- 485Wi £3.50 M, 20p U
1/2 d orange, SG No. 503, used -- 503Wi 10p M, 30p U
1-1/2 d red-brown, SG 464, used -- 464Wi £10 M, 50p U
2 d pale orange, SG No. 488, used -- 488Wi £2.75 M, 20p U

So sorry, you're still in the plastic boat in bathtub league, even
adding about 20% for inflation.

Thanks, Blair. It seems that they are not rarities. Is there any way that
a stamp and its watermark can be shown simultaneously? Supposing a stamp
with an inverted watermark is quite expensive, how can a bidder bid on it
sight unseen? I can think of a photo of the stamp held away from a surface,
with a strong light shining on it, thus showing the watermark and the
design. The stamps in question are on rather thin paper, and this may make
my suggestion doable.

For high value stamps you depend on a reputable seller.

The stamp can be placed between two small thin plates of glass
to which some drops of watermark fluid has been added,
and the stamp then scanned.
The stamp image and watermark image can be joined with
a suitable image program (ACDSee) to form one image.

Quite an easy process once set up.
