rec.collecting.books Charter

Rec.collecting.books is an unmoderated group for the discussion of all
aspects of book collecting.It passed its vote for creation by 245:17
as reported in news.announce.newgroups on 12 Jun 1996.

This group is NOT appropriate for For Sale or Wanted To Buy postings,
those being handled nicely in rec.arts.books.marketplace and (to a
lesser extent) in rec.collecting. Nor would it include discussion of
content, that being reserved for rec.arts.books.

To indicate that you are interested in buying, selling, or trading
books in your collecting area, please add information to your
signature, as demonstrated by the one at the bottom of this post.
A list of a few (and certainly not all) appropriate topic areas
follows:

* first edition points
* detailed annotated bibliographies
* tips on book preservation and repair
* glossaries of book collecting terminology
* lists of bookstores specializing in individual authors
* rarity and value of particular books (as opposed to an individual's
selling price)
