Default Question About Marilyn Barbie (Pink Dress) - Do you know...?

I bought this barbie on e-bay and it is the Gentlemen Prefer Blondes
Marilyn Barbie (1997) with the light pink satin dress.

Her dress has a perfect oval patch faded a lighter pink color (from
the waistband to almost the knees and from hip to hip). I assumed
this to be a faded patch from sunlight or a lamp, but upon further
inspection, it's almost as though the dress was colored this way to
make it appear it has texture. The oval of lighter color is so
perfect.

Can anyone confirm if their Marilyn barbie with this dress is evenly
shaded all over the same pink color?

Thanks!
Paula

P.S. If this is unintended discoloration, I suspect this renders my
doll worthless now, doesn't it?

Thanks for the post, but no, I can't really tell, because where the
dress is faded is exactly where the light usually hits it in all
photos.

I need someone who has seen the doll in person to verify if the dress
has a intended faded spot.
