Looking for Britsh Pound form 1700
Hello,
I am currently looking for a Britsh Pound Note from the 1700's, a scan of a Note would be perfectly fine. If anyone would be able to help, that would be really amazing. Best regards |

Best regards The earliest banknotes from the Bank of England were hand-written. Cashiers had to sign each note and make them payable to someone. Notes were fully printed from the mid 1800's The earliest one in private hands was sold at spinks (a £99 dated 1705 which sold for £55,000) There is a picture of it at this link. http://www.spink.com/departments/banknotes.asp |
