Security is a layered concept. The more layers they need to penetrate,
the better. Obscurity is a decent first layer. But, what a lot of
people think is a good hiding place, is something that a lot of people
also think is a good hiding place, so it's predictable.

It's not too dissimilar from information security - give the intruder
something which looks interesting to waste their time on, while they're
not going for the important stuff with possibly real vulnerabilities.
They waste time going after the "honey pot" which is set up to report
the intrusion.
