Default Smokey's Owners Go To Federal Prison

Phillip and David Scheinman pled guilty in Federal court on August 12
for selling forged sports memorabilia. They owned and operated a store
in Las Vegas called Smokey's Sportscards. They were prominently
featured on TV when the FBI raided numerous establishements in
Operation Bullpen. The raid on their store made TV news all over the
country. They also sold on ebay. The father-son combination will be
serving at least one year in Federal prison.

I think they need two years. One for ripping people off and two for
just being stupid.

Amen Sue..............

Its people like this that ruin the Hobby/Business for the honest folks.
When I see fakes on Ebay with bids, I feel sorry for the poor person
who will be stuck with a wortthless item. In sports collecting JERSEYS
are a very dangerous area to collect as so many fakes exist.
My best,
Den

that place was huge...right on the strip...and they did host signings
in their store and brought people to the national conventions...
even though no one cares now, larry johnson was a HUGE name for them
and they brought him around a lot.
