I recently bought 2 gold coins thru E-Bay from an individual in
california, the method of shipment per e-bay post was fed ex, when the transaction went through the individual shipped the coins UPS ground, this is a week coast to coast,is this normal practice for a coin seller to deviate from the posted shipping methods. |

No, this is not normal. If you paid for FedEx next-day and he shipped UPS ground, he screwed up and owes you some money. Good luck collecting it, though -- you might want to just write it off as another damn life experience. -- Bob |

Remember that FedEx also has ground shipping. Maybe he was going to use
that but found that the UPS rate was better. Still, if I advertise a named carrier I always use them. Sometimes when I am not sure of the best way to ship something I will quote a shipping price but not a carrier. Just a thought. But I would at the very least e mail the seller and ask why he didn't send as listed. Hello,
Actually would not use Fedex or UPS for coins. It's in their charter to not provide insurance for money and like items!! I'd bang the seller on the listing vs. the service used. If they have a decent feedback rating they might refund you. Michael "Stonehenge" wrote in message ... I sell coins on ebay & I just put a shipping price on, I never tell how
I will ship, but I always insure or buy a tracking number it only cost 45c for tracking. Some times priority mail is only 10c more than parcel post. As for your complaint you can give him a feedback, he has a respond to your complaint if he wants to. I don't where you live but shipping from East coast to West coast takes a couple of days longer than West to East that is because they have a antrix scare in N.J. & the inspect most packages. I sent a coin parcel post to Texas & it took almost 11 days to be delivered, to Flordia it took 7 days but they received their items. |
