Default Hello????

Thanks for doing the Christmas swaps, and to Larry Loucks too. We used to have some fun here. Remember Ian Milne from Scotland who sent out his 'pirate' token that traveled around? I brought it to Alaska in 2006. It disappeared sometime afterwards.

Is there anyone at home?

So, I just happened to be jonesin for some coin chatter, so I came
to RCC. But, I see there's been very little going on, here. There
are a few old-timer lurkers around, right???

Come out, come out, wherever you are!

So, where are all the older RCCers I used to read? Let's see - who
can I remember???

Bruce Remick
Eric Tillery
Bill Krummel
Michael Benveniste
Frank Provasek
Jud
Jerry Dennis
Bob Rudd
Ira Stein
Barry
Christa
Ken Barr

Have you all gone to another site, to talk coins?

Hi, Eric and all. I've been pretty much a lurker ever since the troll invasion. Jud and I exchange occasional e-mails, usually when the new Sacs and Kennedy's are released.

After the trolls arrived, I noticed a lot of the regulars went to CoinTalk. I tried to check in there just now, but my link gives me a 404 error. Truth be known, I haven't checked into CoinTalk, CoinForum, or CoinPeople for a long time. I still check RCC about once a week, but as you've noticed, there isn't much activity anymore. Like all of us, I miss the old days.

Jerry

Happy New Year Jerry! Yeah, we have been exchanging emails for about 15 years now! I look forward to the day that we actually meet. 8-)

As do I, Jud. If you make it to Syracuse again, I'm about 45 minutes away. If not, my son lives in the Boston metro area. Next time I head his way, maybe we could meet up then.

I have grown old enough to get satisfaction talking mostly to myself now. I
still get into arguements. I do look in here every month or so just to
satisfy my curiousity. I never had that much to say here, coin-wise, but I
still do collect. No real specialty. I still order some of the annual mint
sets out of inertia. Every few years I bring home some of my sets to look
at and realize that's not really the way to enjoy a collection like I once
did.

Hi, Bruce! Glad to hear from you again! Nice to see that you're
still willling to talk to someone other than yourself! Once in a
while, we say something interesting! Maybe....

I haven't done anything with coins in forever. Can't wait for
retirement, some day, so I can have time on my hands to work on my
hobbies! I actually had some coin books on my Christmas list this
year, but didn't get any of them. Maybe for my birthday, in March???
Hope so!

I miss the days of the coin swaps!

Ha! I've been retired for 18 years and my wife still finds more and more
things for me to do. At my age, I find my recent coin purchases more linked
to bullion-related items, with the heirs in mind.

I got one of the travelling coins the one time and took it skiing. I still have pictures of me at one of the North Carolina ski resorts holding the coin. That was fun stuff! I think that coin got to the next recipient, but disappeared after that. It was tough to keep the travelling coins going.

I've noticed some Facebook coin collecting groups. Don't know if anyone knows of any decent ones over there.

So, the honey-do list NEVER ends!! Ugh!
