Senator Bill Nelson's Son Arrested
Orlando Police took Senator-elect Bill Nelson's son into custody,
shortly after 2:30 a.m.

According to police, Charles William Nelson was having a discussion
with another unknown person and laying against a building was a woman
named Kimberly Baxter.

Police approached the three when they noticed Ms. Baxter was slumped
over, at which time, police called for medical assistance. Charles
Nelson argued with the officer that the woman was fine and that he was
taking her back to her hotel. Police say when Mr. Nelson was instructed
to put Ms. Baxter on the ground he, "dropped her on the ground."

Police said they detected alcohol on Charles Nelson's breath and that
his speech was slurred. They then instructed Nelson to leave, which he
refused to do telling officers, "No, You need to leave." Police say
that when they attempted to put Charles Nelson under arrest, he
resisted, so much so, that he had to be pepper-sprayed to be subdued.

Charles William Nelson now faces charges of battery on a law
enforcement officer, disorderly intoxication, and resisting arrest
without violence.
