LOVE on 8-track tape?

Did the fabulous, incredibly underrated, talented, druggy band LOVE ever
make it to 8-track?
They should have....they were on Elektra and Nico made it

What a band...if you don't have the first lp (in mono if on record) and
Forever Changes your collection is seriously lacking.

I have "Forever Changes" and "Da Capo" -- both on Early Ampex carts --

Cool logo, plaid bell bottoms, and cool multi-racial band for the time. I
would certainly buy any of their 8 tracks I came across now. But.....whose
version of Bacharach/David's My Little Red Book is best - Manfred Mann or
Love?

Their First came out in '66, so, it is possible.

Of course they came out on 8T!!!! Why wouldn't they? Hell, I have two
entirely different British issues of "Forever Changes."

I have bad, bad luck with Love carts. I had a beautiful Da Capo
flat-pak that turned into a disaster when I attempted the fix. Many a
Lear Jet Love repair job has gone to **** in my normally competent
hands.

I understand that Arthur Lee is back out of jail and singing
again.....is it true? The story of his most recent incarceration is
pretty sad. Much more mundane than the Meat Puppets guy, but along the
same lines.

oh he's singing again all right.....and he's incredible.
They just put out a DVD of The Forever Changes concert done in the UK in
2003 where they do the whole album...it blew me away.
The band is tight tight tight and they did that album and, the band name
itself, proud. check it out, it's totally worth the $15 or whatever...
cool bonus tracks too, and an easter egg

Love. Manfred Mann's Earth Band's version sucked, but was more
commercial. Back in the "psychedelia" era, Love was just considered
to be another "also ran," but their stuff was more meaty than most of
the crap that made it into the Billboard Top 100...Grace Slick and
pals, for example.

One thing I've found is that there are an incredibly great amount of
albums from 1967. So many, in fact, that it's easy to see how so much
was overlooked. Love took the Byrds and Stones to the nth degree, IMO.
I've always been kinda bored by the Byrds (except for a few key tracks)
but when you take those harmonies and combine them with near psychotic
energy, well, you actually have something. I'm always amazed at how
enduring and talented so many of those mid-late 60's rock artists were.
A million wannabes litter the landscape now and I couldn't care
less...show me an Arthur Lee, a Ronnie Spector, a Tina Turner, etc. and
I'm all ears. I couldn't give a damn if they're in their 60's. (one day,
we'll all get there if we're lucky)
(btw, went to NYC over xmas and saw Ronnie at BB King's blues club in
Times Sq. and was massively impressed at how great her voice is, too bad
she was f'd over all those years by Phil...she woulda been a contenda!
