G'day Tony,
soaking a stamp from a postcard piece, and there was Cobbett

Interesting that he educated himself from Dr Johnson among others. He
rather takes the long handle to Dr Johnson in the Rural Rides:
If her ladyship had been a reader of old dread-death Johnson, that
teacher of moping and melancholy, she would never have planted an oak
tree. If the writings of this time-serving, mean, dastardly old
pensioner had got a firm hold of the minds of the people at large, the
people would have been bereft of their very souls. These writings,
aided by the charm of pompous sound, were fast making their way, till
light, reason, and the French revolution came to drive them into
oblivion; or, at least, to confine them to the shelves of repentant,
married old rakes, and those of old stock-jobbers with young wives
standing in need of something to keep down the unruly ebullitions
which are apt to take place while the "dearies" are gone hobbling to
the 'Change.
Cobbett, Rural Rides, 23 November 1821

Not really sure I agree, but it sounds good.

"unruly ebullitions" indeed, Tony.
I thought this was a family newsgroup.

I can well remember the days when I had ebullitions, Blair. But I
suppose I must reluctantly agree. This is a family show, and
ebullitions, unruly or not, are out of place here. I unreservedly
withdraw the ebullitions.

Ebullition9 is the penultimate track on the Beatles "White album",
(which include bits of Sibelius, Schumann's "Carnaval" and Beethoven )

I still withdraw the ebullitions, Rodney. Music died with JS Bach,
