The Irish RNLI FD cover is number 004 in the classic RNLI cover series. It is somewhat scarcer to find than most of the more recent covers. Here is a scan of the FDC: http://cjoint.com/data/lmqNSLpjdV.htm Here is some further information on the Irish lifeboats: http://cjoint.com/data/lmq06jgUVq.htm Cheers Blair |

Curiosity Corner #254: RNLI The rescue of the Daunt Rock Lightship.
Hi Blair,
I have the same cover no. 004 in my own RNLI collection. Do you know of anywhere where I can find more information about the RNLI series - as I have six books full of them? Which are the more difficult covers to find? Does the series continue today? Incidently, as you may know, the Waveney class lifeboat, seen on this cover, was a great favourite among crews and was developed from a US coastgaurd cutter. The RNLI no longer use this lifeboat for regular service duties. Out of service Waveneys have been sold worldwide - even as far away as NZ. Thanks, Keith Isle of Portland, Dorset, UK "Blair (TC)" wrote in message oups.com...
