some of those replies to Bob are really funny...

That whole thread was pretty amusing. I am still not
sure why people were under the impression they could simply ring someone up
and convince them to scamper over to the on-off switch and cut the power.

It's mind-boggling that Bob would get so obsessed with an Ebay 8-track
vendor, that he would attempt to shut down an alt group that's been in
existence for nearly 10 years- just to stop FA/FS ads.

And take it to the point that Bob forged rmgroup approval via his
newsreader in the attempt, and got caught- thereby totally undermining
himself. He obviously did it unilaterally on his own at first.

To boot, trading/buying/selling is right in this group's charter as
allowed. So what Bob did was alin to trying to hand out a speeding
ticket for going 45 mph in a 60 mph zone on the freeway.

Think about that one...

Question- does Malcolm Riviera support Bob wholeheartedly in this
matter ? Shutting off an 8-track group, if you are an 8-track
hobbyist, is akin to shooting yourself in the leg. It sure as heck
won't grow the hobby any. And it's not like we have an abundance of
sites and message boards to post on. 8-track groups are like hen's
teeth the way it is. Whatever is up his arse, it's time for Malcolm to
bury the hatchet as well and end this feud.

You fail to appreciate the history involved. There was a time when a
group originator could say "enough's enough" and kill off a group of
his own creation, but, due to trolls issuing pony control messages and
"kill wars" in the past, most mail admins evidently simply ignore such
control messages now.
