Unbelievable! (eBay)
Last week when all this came to light about the eBay buyer "kennedydepp"
paying with counterfeit cashier checks I went to eBay boards and posted a note. I went to the Jewelry board, because that was what this scum bag was mostly buying and warned them about kennedydepp. So today I get the following from eBay: Hello flyfishguy, Recently we became aware that your eBay registered account was involved in the following activity: Inappropriate threads started in Community Help Boards, i.e. eBay policy commentary started in the Community Help Registration Board. Posting auction reports or member violations. To report suspected violations, please use our online forms: http://pages.ebay.com/help/community...#how_to_report which is not permitted at eBay. This is a copy of your post: Update on eBay buyer Kennedydepp WARNING flyfishguy (389) (view author's auctions) 08/19/04 07:47 AM As some of you may know "kennedydepp" bought over 16K worth of stuff in a very short time last week. This buyer had 0 feedback. It turns out that she was paying with counterfeit cashier checks. I warned ebay about it, of course they did nothing (even her contact info was bad), she still has not been NARU'd. I put all the information together and forwarded it to the police where she was using a mail drop, The police called me and told me they had enough evidence with what I had sent and she has been arrested and any merchandise that shows up at the mail drop will be returned. Meanwhile eBay still does NOTHING! We realize that you may not have been aware there was a rule against this activity. Therefore, we would like to take this opportunity to invite you to review our site policies, which can be found at: http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/...ne-boards.html Please understand our goal is to help you understand our policies to ensure successful experiences at eBay. Therefore, we respectfully request that you refrain from this activity in the future to avoid the possibility of a suspension of your eBay registration. Thank you for your cooperation in this important matter. Regards, Layne eBay Moderation Team The following was my reply to them: You're out of your mind. I pay you thousands in fees and when some thief pays with COUNTERFEIT cashiers checks and I warn others, you come after me?? This was when eBay had not NARU'D the buyer! As difficult as it is, I guess we should all just sit back, watch people get
pimped by unscrupulous vendors, and hope that the victims pursue their own cases. I completely empathize with your frustration, but also know that we are dealing with a bureaucratic monolith that has grown far faster than its ability to police its own users. Hope I don't get NARU'd for saying this. "Wes Chormicle" wrote in message ink.net... I guess they feel that no matter what the moral attitude of the buyer,as
long as they're getting their fees, they'll let them go on raping the innocent as long as they're getting their cut. Perhaps they should review their own policies-it seems that they forgot them. phil "Wes Chormicle" wrote in message ink.net...
