Is it possible to use a FP on U.S. national flights?

Generally all people from countries other than the USA are seen as
"potential terrorists" by U.S. authorities. At immigration all
foreigners are photographed and fingerprinted. So, how is it with
carrying fountain pens?

P.S. No, I don't have $1.000 fountain pens, but I love my $20 Waterman
and my $350 OMAS.

P.P.S. This posting should not be considered as anti-American, I have no
problems with any nation or people.

I've never been questioned about a fountain pen on a flight. However,
on my last trip I inadvertently left a Swiss Army knife with a 3 inch
blade in my carry on, and no one questioned it either.
