11:30 Mabie Todd Pens -- David Moak
David will present an overview of Mabie Todd Pens as given in his new
book, Mabie in America and focuses on the writing instruments produced
by the company from 1843-1941 and the history of the company and
family. David's book is published on a CD and includes hundreds of
pictures of MBA Toddies.

What is your ideal pen? What can fountain pen manufacturers do for
you? Let the manufacturers hear your comments. Get ready for free
exchange between manufacturers and you, the consuming public.
The Design a Pen forum or workshop is intended to be a dialog between
Fountain Pen manufacturers/Distributors and their ultimate customers,
Fountain Pen Users. Bring your comments and thoughts about what an
ideal pen should be. We are hoping to develop interaction between
users and manufacturers.
You are the trendsetters for the popularity vintage and collectible
pens. Tell the manufacturers features that you see in vintage pens
that you want incorporated in new pens. What insights into the design,
material, nibs, writing qualities, and overall feel can you offer the
manufacturer? Manufacturers and retailers want to hear from their
public.

Barry Gabay is from Richmond, Va, a public school English teacher, an
Adjunct Professor at the University of Richmond and Strayer University
,and a loyal and devoted member of the Richmond Pen Club. Barry also
is the new product reviewer for Pen World where he writes a regular
Pen World column, "To Buy For".

3:00 Fountain Pen Nibs – Show and Tell

Bring your favorite nib. We will have an "Old Fashioned Show and Tell"
with people from all around the world bringing their favorite nibs,
just like Elementary School in the US. What is it about this
particular nib that so inspires you? Is it the writing quality, size,
feel, aesthetic beauty or maybe a sentimental attachment? Was this
your grandfathers nib or the perfect nib that you have used for years?
Come meet other writers that have brought their nibs from around the
world and see why they like them. Susan is from Milwaukee, Wi. and a
former Director of the PCA.
